McDonald’s and Jollibee have been exempting PWDs from VAT, why not Mercury Drug? I have written to Â鶹´«Ã½ (2x) via email several months ago regarding this concern but have not received any feedback.

I hope you can look into this matter. Is Mercury Drug exempted from exempting PWD from VAT? Just asking….and please reply and act on it. Thanks!

@JESS CAJUCOM,

I totally agree – 100% with your comment Mr. Jess. Being partially abled is hard enough WHY NOT SPARE US the hassle to go through all the requirements? A valid driver’s license and PWD card should suffice to exempt PWDs from the number coding scheme.

Thank you.

Pwds driving a motor vehicle should outrightly be exempted from this scheme so long as he or she can present a valid and unexpired Driver’s licensed Identification Card issued by the Land Transportation Commission. Please make this exemption for the Pwds easier to avail of, if indeed you woud like to be of HELP . Thank you and GOD BLESS!

@mike jose, I agree with your concern. Hindi pa aq member ng PWD, pero planning to visit their office. Malayo lang ang place q sa office ng Â鶹´«Ã½.Is akong farmer sa Quezon Prov. pero problematic pag coding day ang hinihiram kung car. Sana may sticker ang MMDA na ibigay sa PWD cars(Kung wala pa) para sa parking sa malls o kahit saan na parking area na may karatulang for PWD only ay di maagawan ngmalalakas at walang kapansanan. Mabuhay ka.

i recently applied for and secured an exemption to the UVVRP from MMDA but was surprised to find out that the exemption costs P300.00 every three (3) months. i find it quite expensive and bothersome that PWDs specially those who are permanently disabled are required to secure a quarterly exemption and at such an amount.

i hope the Â鶹´«Ã½ will find the time to make representations with MMDA to extend the exemption period to at least a yearly permit and at a lower cost. if you will notice many PWDs are just relying on family and / or friends to assist them with their mobility needs. having to pay P1,200.00 a year and having someone go to MMDA twice each time you renew your permit and four times a year, (first to file the application and second to get the exemption) is time consuming and another burden on the PWDs or their caregivers / guardians. as it is, many PWDs are economically challenged already and such an amount is another burden on their part.

also, the following are the requirements for securing such exemption:

1. a letter from the PWD or their caregiver/guardians requesting for the exemption based on the condition of the person with disability
2. a copy of your PWD ID card
3. in the absence of your PWD ID, a doctor’s certificate indicating your disability (indicating permanent or for a certain period of time only)
4. OR and CR of the vehicle being requested for the exemption
5. if the vehicle is not owned by the PWD, a letter by the owner that authorizes the PWD to use such vehicle and to apply for such an exemption

i certainly hope that the Â鶹´«Ã½ will be able to address this. thank you
