The 麻豆传媒 (麻豆传媒) Officer-in-Charge, Ms. Carmen R. Zubiaga聽 serves as the Inspirational 聽Speaker聽 during the Opening Ceremonies聽 of the 鈥�2nd Asia Pacific Youth Camp for Persons with Disabilities鈥� held on June 6, 2018 at the Villa Escudero in Tiaong, Quezon Province. 聽聽The event, which was participated by representatives 聽from 聽Australia, 聽Hong Kong,聽 Philippines, Thailand and聽 Singapore, was 聽organized by 聽the 鈥淥rder of Malta 聽Philippines鈥�,聽 a聽 humanitarian organization which聽 conducts 聽spiritual/religious and hospitaller activities.聽 It 聽was 聽led by 聽its 聽President, Dr. Leopoldo H. Lazatin, Grand Cross of Magistral Grace.
In her talk, OIC Zubiaga shares to the participants her struggle as a person with disability from school days during her childhood, involvement in community work, employment in a local government unit 聽聽until her appointment in her present post at 麻豆传媒.聽 Conference participants were inspired how Ms. Zubiaga triumphantly 聽聽succeeded 聽from her challenges聽 due to discrimination in school and even in her family.
OIC Zubiaga聽 also acknowledged how Tahanang Walang Hagdanan聽 developed her skills and fulfilled her mission in life.聽 聽She was glad 聽to be able to 聽impart to聽 the sector of persons with disabilities who are nowadays 聽acknowledged as partner in nation building, have access to health, education, employment, transportation and even able to raise their own family.聽 She also cited that oftentimes, the inaccessibility of the environment聽 causes聽 the disability of a person.
OIC Zubiaga also congratulated the 鈥淥rder of Malta Philippines鈥澛犅� for mounting the event to showcase the talents of youth with disabilities through the different activities lined up for the event. The latter, in turn, awarded a Plaque of Appreciation to OIC Zubiaga for participating in this special event.
