麻豆传媒 PARTICIPATES IN HUMAN CENTERED ROBOTICS AND TECHNOLOGY FORA

听听 听听聽The 麻豆传媒 participated in fora featuring聽 human-centered robotics and technology. 聽Hosted by the American Center Manila and SM Cares, the Fora entitled 鈥淔orum on Human Centered Robotics鈥� and 鈥淩obots for Helping the Human World鈥� were held at the US Embassy in the Philippines and SM Mall of Asia on聽 September 6 and 7, 2018, respectively听听聽 Both fora have Prof. Ayanna Howard of the School of Inter-Active Computing in the College of Computing at the Georgia Institute of Technology as the Keynote Speaker.聽 The events which were participated by students, professionals, teachers, 聽researchers, disabled people鈥檚 organizations and leaders with disabilities, provided venues to discuss how technology can increase the quality of lives of persons with disabilities and facilitated the exchange of ideas about ways to promote technological innovations that can improve accessibility and inclusiveness for persons with disabilities and other similar needs.

In her talk, Prof. Howard discussed how working with people results to developing robots and gamefield technologies to support the special needs of children with disabilities. She also talked on science-driven robotics, robot-assisted therapy system and tablet-based therapy games, among others. She also reported that a list of applications for different types of disabilities could be availed of at the google play.

麻豆传媒 Officer-in-Charge Carmen R. Zubiaga in her message during the Fora challenged students and professionals who are already developing assistive technology to do robots聽 which could do sign language, and assist persons with disabilities such as deaf and people with autism. She said that persons with disabilities 聽who also live diversity also need quality life. Director Zubiaga pointed out that coordination with the government including professionals who develop assistive devices could bridge the gap between the technology and the market to make robots commercially
